Henry Ferreira, Partner
“I’ve worked with numbers throughout my life, and they can tell a story – often what is missing from a balance sheet is the social cost of a decision, or the environmental consequence of a strategy. In this role, with this team, we account for a triple bottom line and the story our numbers tell is therefore a lot more positive.”
Henry is a management accountant and former city-trader (futures and options). He obtained his masters degree in South Africa and did articles at accounting firm, Arthur Andersen before joining a top-tier corporate bank marketing tax structured investments; “I had a passion for property and this led to personal investment in the UK property market and eventually my re-location to England’s south coast. I qualified as a CeMap Mortgage Advisor and focussed on managing my own portfolio and keeping up to speed with interesting developments in the property arena. Nothing more interesting came about than the conversation I had with the founding partners of Barefoot – here was a team that put quality and equality at the centre of their play, and had a sharp, focussed plan to create affordable overseas property investments that created value not only for the buyer, but for the environment and community also. Financial management has never been so fulfilling”.
Henry continues to build a network of lenders to facilitate capital raising and investment wrappers for both private placements, off-plan and retail phases of Barefoot Investments developments. He is also responsible for relations and due diligence between Barefoot Investments and overseas lending institutions, finance contractors and project auditors.
